Six String Poetry: Podcast

I’m happy to announce a new podcast I recently launched on Warwick Radio called Six String Poetry. The initial idea is to record a live guitar track at the library while a poetry reading takes place (hopefully live). In this first podcast, I played the guitar to my own voice played back.

As you can probably guess by the name of the podcast, the show is basically showcasing good poems and a live guitar track, recorded together at the library’s podcast studio. This podcast is an evolution from my previous show called Poetry and Piano as showcased on Warwick Radio. Although, I technically could have recorded the piano tracks at the library for that show, I recorded them at home and recorded the poetry reading at the library. Thanks to the ease of portability of the guitar, I am able to record at the library’s well equipped podcast studio with my favorite engineer & librarian Wil Gregerson.

The first podcast episode features two poems accompanied by classical guitar. The poems are by Walter de la Mare and H.D. otherwise known as Hilda Doolittle. I aimed to video record both performances but got caught up in the process and only filmed the first reading which can be seen here:

If you enjoyed this video or the full podcast episode please let me know.
